Privacy policy

In short

This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers. It only collects personal information when you fill in a form, and only what I need to answer you.

One purely practical exception: when you switch languages, the website keeps your reading position in your browser's session storage while the new page loads. This stays on your device and is deleted right away.

The website also has a management area, reserved for people authorized by Karine Champagne, to keep its content up to date. Only these people receive, when they sign in, a strictly necessary session cookie (not readable by scripts, sent over HTTPS only), deleted when they sign out. Website visitors never receive one.

What is collected and why

• "Book the artist" form: name, email, phone (optional), type of request and the details you provide (organization or school, city, dates, message). They are only used to answer your request and prepare a possible agreement. Legal basis under the GDPR: pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
• App waitlist: first name, email, language, and the date and wording of the consent you ticked. Your signup is only recorded once you confirm it through the link sent to you by email. This data is only used to announce the launch of the app. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Abuse protection: to limit the number of submissions, a hashed, non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address is kept for 10 minutes at most. The IP address itself is never stored.

Service providers and transfers outside Quebec

To run the website, some information is processed by providers based in Canada or the United States, bound by confidentiality and security commitments:

• Vercel Inc.: website hosting.
• Resend: sending the emails generated by the forms and managing the waitlist.
• Upstash: limiting the number of submissions (IP fingerprint, 10 minutes).
• Supabase (servers in Canada): database for the website content (dates, texts, photos) and the management area accounts. No information about visitors is stored there.
• Anthropic: English translation of the texts Karine Champagne writes in her management area. Only these texts are sent, never any information about visitors.

As required by Quebec's Law 25, these transfers outside Quebec are subject to a privacy impact assessment. For visitors from the European Union, transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

YouTube videos

Videos only load when you click "Play video". The player then comes from youtube-nocookie.com, a Google service, which may collect data under its own privacy policy. Until you click, no data is sent to YouTube.

Retention

• Booking requests: as long as needed to handle the request, then 2 years after the last exchange for administrative follow-up.
• Waitlist: until you unsubscribe, or at the latest 12 months after the app launches.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent and, if you live in the European Union, ask for restriction of processing or data portability. Write to info@karinejazzymama.com: I will reply within 30 days.

You can also file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or, if you live in the European Union, with the data protection authority of your country.

Every email about the app will include an unsubscribe link.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS only. Forms are checked on the server, and access to the information is limited to Karine Champagne. The management area is only open to the people she authorizes, and every change made there is checked on the server.
